Israel Ruiz was born in Santander, Northern Spain.

Ruiz enrolled in acting school in 1997. He moved to Madrid in 2001 after finishing his degree in the EAD Cantabria, with the offer to enrol in the National Theater Company. (‘The Car Cemetery’ Fernando Arrabal, on the role of inhabitant)

In Madrid, Ruiz had the chance to follow his training (Iaki Aierra Laboratory, Bruce Myers, Hernan Gene ) to work on stage with different companies, (Dennis Rafter company, Twelfth night, on the role of Sebastian) and performing at the best theater festivals in Spain, including the Almagro Classical Theatre Festival. In 2005 Ruiz made the move into TV, on the national channels. For the next few years he was working on stage in many plays and musicals, as well as famous Spanish TV series.(‘La que se avecina’ and ‘Familia’)

In 2011 he performed on Broadway in New York, and came back to Madrid with the HOLA award as Best Latin Interpretation in Manhattan for the role of ‘el loco’ in a Spanish musical theater version of ‘La Strada’ by_Fellini.(The Barrow Group and IATI)

After moving to London in 2013, Ruiz performed both locally and around the country, including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2016.
