Joanna Booth has had a rich and diverse career in the performing arts, having graduated in 1994 from the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Since then, she has enjoyed a wealth of experiences across both stage and screen, with standout roles including Polly Peachum in The Threepenny Opera at Northern Stage, Maria in Twelfth Night at Theatre by the Lake, and a notable appearance in Stephen Sondheim’s Passion in the bill kenwright West End production under Jeremy Sams direction. With a mezzo-soprano voice, Joanna’s vocal talents span a variety of genres, including musical theatre, jazz, and band performances. Her acting range is equally versatile, seamlessly moving between both dramatic and comedic roles.
In addition to her performance work, Joanna is an accomplished Voice and Dialect Coach. Renowned for her ability to teach accents and vocal techniques, she delivers tailored sessions focused on efficient voice use for both stage and screen. Joanna runs a private practice and serves as the coordinator for the Spoken Voice department at Leeds Conservatoire. Passionate about further expanding her career, she is now looking to venture into voice-over work and audiobook narration, leveraging her extensive vocal expertise.
Joanna’s television credits include a memorable recurring role as DC Davenport, the Child Protection Officer, on Coronation Street, where she appeared over a four-year period, further showcasing her versatile acting skills.
