Shian Denovan is an award-winning Scottish actress working across film, television and theatre.

Most recently, Shian appeared opposite Christoph Waltz in the multi-Oscar nominated Frankenstein, directed by Guillermo del Toro. The film received multiple BAFTA nominations and won three BAFTA Awards. Her performance has been generating significant attention across social media.

She plays Iris Morgan in the Channel 4 series Murder in the Carpark. She has taken on leading roles in numerous feature films and has won Best Actress at Nice International Film Festival and Sydney’s Night of Horror Festival, as well as receiving a nomination at an Ontario Film Festival.

For her work in theatre, she was nominated for Best Actress by The Stage. In 2023, she performed with Scottish Opera at venues including the Theatre Royal (Glasgow) and Festival Theatre (Edinburgh). Previous stage credits include Dundee Rep, Theatre503 (London), and the Traverse Theatre (Edinburgh).

Outside of acting, Shian writes poetry and makes films. She has performed at numerous festivals, won several poetry slams, and placed third in the UK National Poetry Slam Finals. She is also the founder of Affecting Films, through which she has directed award-winning short films.
